Edge is an integral part of the agriculture industry that has produced quality bandsaw blades for the food processing and lumber industry for over 25 years.
POSITION
Summary:
Edge is seeking a Controls Technician to assist with an ongoing backlog of small to medium-sized machinery builds.
Candidate will work alongside engineering, machine shop, and maintenance staff as a specialist in control system wiring, installation, and troubleshooting.
Machines built will be used worldwide in high volume production, so attention to detail is critical and workmanship must be of the highest quality.
Candidate must be able to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics to fabricate, wire, test, and install control systems into new or existing machines.
When applicable, work may also need to be performed with only a list of requirements or examples to work from, requiring a panel to be developed ad-hoc for the given application.
Work completed and parts used should be fastidiously tracked within our company ERP system.
REQUIREMENTS:
Strong knowledge of general electrical theory and low voltage wiring standards Ability to interpret PLC/HMI programs (we utilize Allen-Bradley and AutomationDirect) Familiarity with VFDs and Servo Drives Demonstrate effective problem-solving and communication skills Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble and troubleshoot solutions.
Must have or be able to obtain a passport for international travel Must have valid driver's license PREFERRED SKILLS:
Ability to weld, fabricate, and/or machine parts and assemblies Create new PLC programs from scratch (or modify existing programs) Experience with SCADA and/or OPC systems
