Basic Math; Basic Reading (Comprehension of Furnace and Molding schedules, Standard Operational Procedures); Basic Writing.
Forklift and/or Case/Bobcat experience preferred.
Job
Responsibilities:
Shake out castings from sand molds in all pouring areas following procedures in Melt SOP 0800 and/or in Expanded Work Instructions.
Prepare molding areas for the next days production by removing any materials remaining after pouring and shakeout operation.
Transport castings to Finishing Area following handling procedures.
Assist with the set-up function on No-Bake Floor by staging flasks required for molding and hauling out flasks, which are not needed.
Assist set-up personnel on No-Bake Floor with handling and set-up of patterns as needed.
Operate shakeout end of Tru-Flo line, separating castings per SOP and Expanded Work Instructions.
Clean up as required around furnace platform, Tru-Flo line, and around and under Didion units.
Separate tramp metal and chills from spent molding sand.
Put tramp metal in drums for remelting and sort chills and store for reuse.
Remove metal pigs from molds and transport to charging deck.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
